The Milwaukee Bonsai Society promotes its activities locally at several exhibits and shows each year.

During the Wisconsin State Fair in August, the Flower Building is home to an extensive collection of bonsai trees. MBS also sponsors booths at garden shows, the Folk Fair and a Silhouette show at the Milwaukee Domes. master show You can get involved by showing trees, greeting and educating the public as they enjoy the trees, or being on a committee designing and coordinating the exhibit.

Showing Trees

We have several shows throughout the year, all members are encouraged to participate at their level. Michelle Peoples Award We have sponsored shows at Asian Moon, Home and Garden Show, Holiday Folk Fair, Wauwautosa Garden Tour, Arts in Bloom and Boerner to name a few. Watch this site to learn which events we will be promoting.

Greeting the Public

Opportunities to really view and learn about trees includes spending time behind the lines greeting the public and answering questions about bonsai and specific trees. Really enjoy the company of fellow greeters and accolades from the viewers. Volunteer to tree sit!

Organizing a Show

Great exhibits are much more than decoration, they tell a tree's story and build relationships with the community. Our plan is to continue a tradition of fine bonsai exhibits.
